Gel printing is the process of making custom prints using acrylic paints and a gel plate, which has a similar feel silicone and is easy to clean and reuse. During class, Rose will show you how to use found objects and secondhand junk to create impressions on the gel plate for making unique monoprints. Using Rose’s favorite combination of Gel Press printing plates and AMSTERDAM acrylics, see how easy it is to create vivid textures, shapes, and color combinations using this fun and experimental medium.
Junk items to print with, as well as ALL OTHER MATERIALS will be provided, but attendees are welcomed and encouraged to bring their own found objects as well! Come GEL with us and see why this printmaking method is continuing to rise in popularity!
