Groundbreaking Florals for Spring

Let’s address the obvious: painting flowers isn’t exactly groundbreaking. And yet, there’s a reason artists return to florals again and again!

Florals are foundational. They quietly teach some of the most essential skills in art - perspective (especially when placed in a landscape or interior setting), color theory, light and shadow, and composition. That classic studio setup -(a glass vase with thoughtfully arranged bouquet...) exists for a reason. It challenges you to observe, simplify, and translate what you see into something expressive and uniquely yours.

And beyond the technical, florals are simply fun! They’re forgiving, vibrant, and endlessly customizable. Whether you’re working loose and impressionistic or tight and detailed, there’s always something new to explore.
