Our JUNE Artist of the Month - Natalie Ginney

Hello Studio Society!

This month, The Art Store is proud to recognize Natalie Ginney as our June Artist of the Month!

Miss Natalie is a young artist from right here in Syracuse whose work is inspired by the seasons, emotions, everyday life, and the world around her. In true Aquarius form, her favorite medium is drawing, and she develops her artistic skills through daily practice and careful observation. Inspired by her late Uncle Len, Natalie believes art is a way to express feelings, ideas, and creativity without needing perfection.

One of our favorite thoughts from Natalie is:
“Mistakes can turn into a beautiful thing.” Happy Accidents, Indeed! We heartily agree!

Miss Natalie finds inspiration everywhere... from art tutorials and television shows to movement, people, and personal experiences! She especially enjoys creating art during the daytime when the world feels active and inspiring. Her creativity shines through not only in her artwork, but also in the thoughtful way she views art as something that captures the beliefs, traditions, and culture of a community.

We are honored to feature Natalie’s work this month and celebrate the imagination, dedication, and joy she brings to the creative community! We invite you all to come in and see her masterpieces, on display now through the end of the month in our second-floor mezzanine gallery.

XOXOX,
Your Friendly Neighborhood Art Store

Artist Bio: Natalie Ginney (in her own words)

"Hello, my name is Natalie. I am 12 years old and in 6th grade. I love beluga whales and enjoy drawing and painting. Art is very important to me because it has taught me that nothing must be perfect and that everyone makes mistakes. When I am bored, art gives me creative ideas and encourages me to try new styles.

Much of my artwork is inspired by other artists and tutorials. One artist I especially enjoy is Farjana Drawing Academy because she shares many creative and original ideas.

I have accomplished many things in my life, but this opportunity feels especially meaningful, and I hope you find my art interesting.

If you are not sure what to draw, there are many ways to find inspiration. You can start by drawing random shapes and connecting them, take a walk and observe the world around you, reflect on past experiences, or watch art tutorials.

Some of my inspiration also comes from my emotions and life experiences. For example, if I feel sad, I might create a blue painting, and if I feel happy, I might choose bright colors like pink or yellow.

Above all, remember to be kind and try to have a good day."
