Here at The Art Store, we believe in the power of creativity to bring people together. As October approaches, we’re excited to dive into another season of art challenges celebrating imagination, creativity, and community spirit!
While #Inktober has sparked its fair share of conversation and controversy over the years, we’re once again embracing the whimsical, magical vibes of #Witchtober!
This October, we invite artists from across Syracuse and Central New York - as well as everyone who has found us through social media and become part of our larger “global” neighborhood - to join us on this enchanting artistic adventure.
Whether you’re a seasoned artist, a casual doodler, or just beginning to find your creative voice, we want to see your witchy creations! Let your imagination run wild. Think magical landscapes, mysterious creatures, spellbinding characters, cozy witchy scenes, potions, spells, and everything in between!
Our 2026 prompt list will be shared on social media and included in this week’s email for easy reference!
How to Join the Fun:

Create and post your art: You don’t have to participate every day. Even sharing one Witchtober artwork during October qualifies you for our prizes!

Tag us: Be sure to tag @theartstorecny so we can find and celebrate your creativity.

Use the hashtags: Include #MyFavoriteArtStore and #Witchtober2026 with your post.

Keep your account public: Your account (or at least the post) will need to be public so we can see your artwork and include you in the fun.

Prizes, Prizes, Prizes!
We’re adding a little extra magic to the challenge with weekly prizes for participants throughout October!
And when the month comes to an end, we’ll award three grand prizes featuring fabulous art-supply bundles designed to inspire your next creative adventure.
We also reserve the right to award SPONTANEOUS prizes for coolness, uniqueness, fabulousness or hilariousness.
You never know what magical goodies might be waiting for you!
Share the Magic!
We’ll also be sharing participant artwork in our social media stories throughout the month. It’s a chance for our creative community to discover new artists, cheer each other on, and celebrate all the wonderful and wicked witchy art being made!
So gather your brushes, pens, pencils, markers, paints...whatever magical art-making tools you love...and get ready to create!
