Compressed charcoal is the blackest drawing material that can be produced, providing a very deep, intense black. These oil-free pencils are produced from a mixture of soot and clay that erases easily and can be repeatedly overlaid. These pencils can be sharpened with a sharpening knife and are available individually or in assorted sets.
