Using Jacquard SolarFast dyes, students will create beautiful botanical prints using leaves, flowers, grasses, and other organic materials. These unique dyes develop rich, permanent color when exposed to sunlight or a UV Lamp, allowing natural forms and textures to be captured in remarkable detail. With a variety of vibrant dye colors to choose from, each participant can create artwork that reflects their own unique style.
Participants will learn how to prepare Cotton Sateen fabric or paper, arrange botanical elements to create eye-catching compositions, and use UV light to reveal their designs. SolarFast dyes work on a variety of natural fiber surfaces including cotton, linen, canvas, silk, hemp, wood, and rag paper, making them a versatile medium for textile and mixed-media artists alike!
