PanPastel: Plume & Pigment is a 2-hour creative workshop led by local artist Sharon Blair that explores the beauty of birds through the soft, vibrant world of pastels. Using PanPastels, along with select hard pastels and pastel pencils, students will learn approachable techniques for creating gorgeous feathered subjects on a variety of paper surfaces.
Birds are a wonderful and accessible way to learn pastels—whether you’re drawn to bright, tropical colors or more subtle, muted plumage, you’ll be encouraged to experiment, interpret, and see birds in new ways. This class is designed to be welcoming and flexible, allowing everyone to explore different birds and personal styles while building confidence with pastel materials.
All materials are provided, so students only need to bring an open mind and a sense of curiosity. Perfect for all skill levels, including complete beginners who have never worked with pastels before.
