Japanese Watercolor Leaves is a 2-hour immersive workshop taught by local artist Sara Stedner, inviting students to explore the expressive beauty of watercolor through fantastical leaf designs. Using a variety of Japanese water media - including traditional Japanese watercolors, Akashiya Sai watercolor markers, and metallic Manga pens - students will create richly layered, mixed-media watercolor leaves on several types of watercolor paper.

This class is a wonderful introduction to water media and is welcoming to artists of all levels, from complete beginners to experienced creatives looking to experiment with new materials. Students will be encouraged to play with color, texture, and mark-making, culminating in a final step where their finished leaves are collaged into a stunning finished artwork!

This workshop is especially popular—it sold out almost immediately when last offered, and students enthusiastically requested its return. Seats are expected to fill quickly, so don’t wait to register!

All materials are provided, so students only need to bring an open mind and a sense of creative adventure.
