Celebrate the coming of spring with this fun and inspiring introductory PanPastel workshop! Perfect for beginners, even if you’ve never picked up a pastel before! Using fresh spring flowers as our inspiration (just what we need for late February in Central New York), students will learn the basics of this exciting and versatile medium in a relaxed, supportive environment.
PanPastel is a unique form of soft pastel that comes in convenient pans and is applied with soft tools rather than traditional sticks. This allows for smooth, painterly effects, rich color, and easy blending - without the dust and mess often associated with pastels. You’ll be guided step by step through essential techniques, including color application, blending, and layering, while creating your own spring-inspired artwork.
The workshop will be taught by local artist and Art Store favorite Sharon Blair, who is known for her approachable teaching style and deep love of the medium. Best of all, all materials are provided, so there’s nothing to bring! Just show up ready to learn, experiment, and enjoy the creative process!
